Wayne Karpoff

Wayne is a veteran entrepreneur of high-opportunity technology startups. Wayne is currently CEO of Willowglen Systems, an Edmonton based technology company that has developed leading industrial automation technology. Under his leadership, Willowglen is now deployed on 5 continents, controls some of the larges pipelines in the world and safely delivers 3.8 billion metro passengers per year. Prior to Willowglen, Wayne founded YottaYotta, which sold to EMC (Dell) and has now crossed the $2B in direct and indirect revenue. Prior to YottaYotta, Wayne held various management roles leading to CEO of Myrias (sold 1999), Canada's entry to the Supercomputer race. Wayne has sat on numerous boards and advised many companies. He currently chairs TEC Edmonton, is a board member of Capital Road (Banff Venture Forum, Propel Energy Forum, Canadian Finance Forum), is past Chair of Technology Alberta, is a founding member of the A100, and has served on a very long list of community and University boards. Among many awards, Wayne was a 2017 E&Y Western-Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, reflecting Willowglen's progress. Wayne holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Alberta, ICD.D from the University of Toronto and is an inventor on more than 20 patents.
